Today I will be reviewing a cream foundation originated from Japan, MEIKO COLLECTION : MC COVER FACE (MCCT). I have been eyeing this foundation for a long time because I wanted to buy a cream foundation. Currently I am using the liquid Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation.
Actually, products from Meiko Corporation are the raves since a few years back and previously I have tried and liked their Naturactor collection. I've heard that this MEIKO COLLECTION : MC COVER FACE (MCCT) is the new improved formula of their Naturactor foudation, which claims that they have added Jojoba oil and Vitamin C to the formula. It also says that this foundation is suitable for acne-prone skin, unlike the Naturactor foundation.
The Packaging
I bought the original foundation from an Instagram Shop for MYR 65 including postage (the market price is MYR 89).
It comes in a small box and a glass jar which makes it easier for me to bring it everywhere in my makeup purse. The packaging is very simple, classy and you wont really stain the jar with your fingers unlike the Naturactor foundation jar (which comes in white jar).
The product
I am not sure how many grams does it contain in a jar and I couldn't get any information from their official website as well. I have bought the shade number 141 and there are 8 shades available for sale. The texture of the product is very thick and creamy, so application with a sponge is much recommended than using a foundation brush. It also does not have any scent.
The Verdict
Currently my skin is full of redness and a few active pimples due to Garnier Sakura White Sleeping Essence. You can see below pictures T_T. I have stopped using the essence for a while and my skin condition improves a lot. I'm so sad because I really like the essence but it doesn't suit my skin :(
While trying, it turns out that shade 141 is one or two times lighter than my skin tone. I should have bought a darker shade for myself but oh well~
I have tried applying the foundation with a dry and a wet sponge. IMO, application with a wet sponge blended really well as per compared to using a dry sponge. It does make your makeup look natural and cast less white shade, which is a good thing since you don't want to look like a ghost.
The coverage is medium to heavy, depends on how many layers of application. However it does not cover my skin's imperfections as much as a liquid foundation (Estee Lauder Double Wear does it better than this foundation). One thing that I really love is it does not feel heavy at all, unlike when using a liquid foundation.

With one layer of foundation, no powder. |
This foundation does not break me out (I accidentally slept with this foundation on and I shouldn't do that T_T) but it also does not give me the coverage that I really wanted. However, I think people with less skin problem will love this foundation. I have a lot of scars from previous plus current acne and my skin is still healing so I am kinda not satisfied with the coverage it provides. It might have been better with a correct shade but since I'm not really sure about it, I hesitate to spend more on buying the correct shade. However, I will continue to use it if I'm in a haste since the application is much easier than using a liquid foundation.
